A 25-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after Florida police said four dogs died in her car while she was eating at a restaurant, local reports said.

Police allege that White left four dogs in her hot car Thursday afternoon while eating lunch at a restaurant in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, according to the report.
White told local police that she left the air conditioner on for the dogs — two 12-week-old Goldendoodles, a 2-year-old boxer, and a 4-year-old Goldendoodle. WKMG-TV reports. Police said it was about 89 degrees outside that day.
“She allegedly once went to look for dogs during her meal, but found them all dead when she finished lunch about an hour later,” the Daytona Beach News Journal said.
When officers arrived at the scene, she cried and said, “I should not be allowed to own a dog,” according to media reports, citing police documents.
The News Journal reported that she was taken to a local prison on Friday, noting that she was emotional during her court appearance.
