The owner spent 12 years converting the barn into the property’s primary residence, listing agent Kathy Lacey of Dwellhop Real Estate told Insider.

The list of records shows that this is the first time the property has been offered for sale.

“His parents owned the original property, so this property has been in the family for a very long time,” she said of the owner.

The median listing home in Arena, Wisconsin has a price tag of $289,900, making this a high-priced property at $945,000 and the most expensive single-family home in the area.

Lacey said the owner carved all the pine beams in the house.

Because the property is within the Highway Commercial District, owners are allowed to use a portion of their property for commercial purposes to work through the traffic, Lacey said. She added that one way the new owners can do this is by converting the duplexes into a short-term guest rental.

Lacey said the owner is currently using one of the other buildings on the property as a recreational “man’s cave”. They are abundantly decorated with deer heads – they are not for sale.
