“I don’t look at all the memes,” he told CNN. “I try to stay away from things that might bother me.”

Instead, Brown is focused on healing.

The former “Bad Boy of R&B” is sober, in therapy, and excited to share his life story.

A&E Documentary Biography: Bobby Brown will air over two days, beginning on Memorial Day with his documentary Bobby Brown: Every Little Step debuting the following day.

The series focuses on his family life with his wife Alicia Etheridge Brown and their children Cassius (12), Buddy (6) and Hendrix (5).

Brown said he’s not afraid to open up his home and life to the cameras.

“How we work as a family is great and I want people to see that,” he said. “Families still go through ups and downs, but it’s always good to be proud of them.”

The singer has had his fair share of unfortunate times.

He shared that he was molested by a priest as a child before becoming a young star as a member of the boy band New Edition.

His later life included a major battle with drug abuse and a series of arrests.

Then came the turbulent marriage to Houston, which ended in 2007 after more than 14 years.

Her death in 2012 was followed by the deaths of her only child, Bobbi Kristina, in 2015 and Brown’s son, Bobby Brown Jr., in 2020.

The elder Brown says he’s finished dumping everything in the treatment.

“The cure is the ability to talk about things I don’t normally talk about, to pull out all the cobwebs and give people what I think I give them, which is everything from Bobby,” he said.

He said it didn’t even bother him that many focused more on his tragedies than on his victories, because “there were so many tragedies that it’s hard to focus on what I did right.”

He wants the world to know that he and Houston loved each other so much, that he’s proud of all his kids, and that he thinks he’s a better husband and father now because of everything he’s been through.

Brown has said he’s also making new music, as a solo artist and as a member of New Edition, the group he broke up with several times during his dark days but has since reunited on a recently successful tour.

His message to people who might have counted it?

He said, “Don’t look away.” “I still have work to do.”
