2022 – Emma Raducano prepares for Wimbledon in Nottingham

Emma Raducano lost to Alexandra Sasnovich of Belarus in the second round of the French Open on Wednesday.

Emma Radocano has brought the start of her grass season forward and will play in the Nottingham Open in June.

The 19-year-old was set to make her first appearance in front of a British crowd since winning the US Open at the Birmingham Classic, but has now added Nottingham to her agenda.

Raducano’s claycourt swing ended when she lost in the second round of the French Open on Wednesday.

Dan Evans will also play in Nottingham, and the tournament will start on June 6.

Raducanu reached the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2021 and will once again use Nottingham – which was her first event on the WTA Tour last year – to prepare for a Grand Slam.

The world number 12 is planning to follow Nottingham with another WTA 250 event in Birmingham, starting June 13.

“I am looking forward to returning to Nottingham and it will be a great opportunity to play in front of a British crowd for the first time this year,” said Radocano, who is currently short on a full-time coach after his recent split from German Turbine Peltz.

Tunisian Ons Jabeur, ranked sixth in the world, was expected to be the top seed at the women’s event in Nottingham but was forced to retire due to a knee injury.
