Global airlines on Tuesday downplayed fears that rising inflation could stall the recovery in air travel, saying some airlines could cut ticket prices if needed to stimulate demand.

Willie Walsh, director general of the International Air Transport Association, also told a group of journalists that the recent travel chaos in Europe was caused mainly by delays in obtaining security clearances for staff, which he expected will dwindle.
