It looks like the next social media platform that plans to offer the paid subscription is Snapchat. Liz Markman, a spokeswoman for Snap – the company that owns the platform – confirmed that the edge Snap is conducting early internal testing of a new subscription service for Snapchatters called Snapchat Plus. Unfortunately, Markman has not shared any other information about the new subscription plan. However, app researcher Alessandro Palozzi shed more light on the potential features of Snapchat Plus.
With Snapchat Plus, you can tag one of your friends as your “best friend”. That is, of course, if you are brave enough to do so. Snapchat Plus also gives you access to exclusive Snapchat icons and displays a badge on your profile, presumably to show others that you are a paid subscriber.
Plus, with the premium plan, you can see which of your friends have re-viewed your story, and if your friend shares their location with you, you can see where they have been over the past 24 hours.
So… by subscribing # snap chat+ You can:
Pin a friend as a #1 BFF
Get access to exclusive Snapchat icons
Display a badge on your profile
Watch your orbit with BFF
Check where your friend has been in the last 24 hours
See how many friends have rewatched your story– Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) June 16, 2022
As for Snapchat Plus pricing, Paluzzi shared that they could be 4.59€ per month and 45.99€ per year, which translates to about $4.84 per month and $48.50 per year in USD equivalent. Of course, these may not be the final prices when the service actually launches, so take these numbers with caution.
