2022 – Sunday with R贸is铆n Murphy: “My boyfriend is Italian, so we eat very fancy” | Sunday with…

Sunday breakfast? I don’t eat much breakfast. The kids eat oatmeal on a school day, but help themselves collect the trash on the weekends. I play notes in the background and tease the kids because we don’t have the same taste in music.

Growing up on Sunday? I grew up in Arklow, Wicklow County, in a house that had no central heating. We had two fireplaces on a Sunday which made things even more comfortable. I remember watching amazing woman With Linda Carter. I’d be in heaven with yogurt and cookies and Wonder Woman.

Sunday lunch? my man [music producer Sebastiano Properzi] Italian, so we eat very sumptuous – veal Milanese, scallops, grilled pork with corrugated milk sauce. He is a good cook, thank God. It’s good at some things, if you know what I mean.

Sunday worship service? My father was a staunch atheist and my mother could not curse that even though I went to a Catholic school. The principal’s wife – Mrs. Garvey – would come every Monday and say, “Children, did you guys go to mass yesterday?” I raised my hand and said, “Rosine Murphy, did you really go to mass yesterday?” And I got into trouble, even though it was my parents’ fault.

Sunday afternoon? I live in Ibiza so I definitely go for walks, but I dance when I do. I’m like a crazy woman dancing to my Spotify playlists. I love jumping hills and never running.

Sunday end? I loved North water On the BBC about a whaling expedition at the time. Colin Farrell is brilliant at that.

Sunday evening? We’ll probably curl up in bed at 9:30 or 10 and read. I’m reading right now Why do Germans do it better by John Kampfner. It is an interesting historical study.

Do you look forward to Monday or do you dread it? I have no feeling for Monday. It’s like every day. You can have a good Monday or a bad day.
