Andy Murray began his preparations for Wimbledon with a routine win over Austrian Jürg Rodionov in the first round of the Surbiton Cup.

Murray, the former world number one, defeated the former world 6-2 6-1 in just 57 minutes.

The three-time Grand Slam winner broke Rodionov twice in each set to comfortably defeat the world number 125.

Murray chose to skip the French Open and instead attend the ATP Challenger Tour event in London to focus on the turf season.
