At a rally in Wisconsin on Friday night, former President Donald Trump made a series of campaign promises — including a pledge to return to the White House.
“We will get the wonderful White House back, and we will get it back,” he said gleefully.
After losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, the former president began hosting a series of rallies that served as a gauge of his popularity with conservatives and could help him maintain momentum for his potential campaign bid.
On Friday, he targeted Biden’s policies, outlining the various initiatives he would lead in the White House.
“We will end the Biden border disaster, reinstate our policy of staying strong with Mexico, and strengthen the Patriots at ICE and border control,” he said.
“We will finish Catch and Release again, one of the dumbest programs ever,” he added. “We will end the immigration streak. We will end the visa lottery and we will tackle illegal immigration just as we did less than two years ago.”
“We will stem the tide of crime in cities run by Democrats, we will give our police forces the strength they need and the respect they deserve, and we will not strip the impunity of our police forces,” he continued.
“We will restore law and order to America. We will hold China responsible for unleashing the virus on the world. We will protect innocent lives. We will defend our constitution. We will defend our completely besieged second.”
Since his defeat, Trump has said several times that he expects to win in 2024 if he runs in the next presidential election. Friday’s rally was the last time he made such an allegation.
During the US Freedom Tour in March, Trump promised to return to the White House in 2024.
“With the support of everyone in this room, we’ll take back the House, we’ll take back the Senate, we’ll take back our country, and then, most importantly, we’ll get our beautiful White House back in 2024,” he said, addressing a crowd of rally-goers in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
