Actor Bradley Cooper, under layers of synthetic makeup, as aging composer Leonard Bernstein in Maestro, a biopic currently filming for Netflix. The streaming service posted the photos on Monday on TwitterWhere they immediately asked to take a double.

Cooper, 47, is also the director of the film, and its follow-up to A Star is Born. It stars Carey Mulligan as Bernstein’s wife, Felicia Montenegrin, and Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy, for “Succession”) as critic John Gruen.

New promotional images also show Cooper as younger Bernstein, sharing a smile with Mulligan’s Montenegrin.

A legend in the world of musical theater, Bernstein is best known for composing the music for West Side Story, the 1957 Broadway-produced 1961 film and the latest Steven Spielberg remake. He died in 1990 at the age of 72.
