Do you get lost in chat messages on WhatsApp? Well, this is a situation that can arise if you happen to be one of those lucky people who have constant conversations with 20 or more people.
WhatsApp now makes it easier for you (if you are one of those very social people) to find unread messages without risking getting lost in the confusion of groups and friends… Yes, WABetaInfo has reported that WhatsApp has released a beta version for iOS and Android with the option to filter chat messages by “unread”.
WhatsApp’s ‘Filter by Unread’ option has been released in beta
The feature was made available to beta testers by WhatsApp TestFlight for iPhone. Fortunately, Android beta testers (running on WhatsApp Beta 220.127.116.11) got the same great feature last week. They’ve had beta testers on desktop and macOS for two weeks already, and now they’re finally getting to the WhatsApp beta testers with iPhones. WhatsApp Business accounts have been enjoying this useful feature since January. It looks like WhatsApp is now working on making it part of the popular chat app feature set for all accounts.

The screenshot shows the basic functionality of WhatsApp Beta for iOS. As you can see, there is a filter button next to the search bar. When you click on it, the app will automatically list all your unread chats, making them easier to detect.
If you decide to remove the filter, a single click on the “Clear Filter” option (accessible again from the filter button again) will restore all your conversations.
Also, conveniently, when you turn on the filter and use the search bar, WhatsApp only shows unread messages as search results.
More beta testers will get the feature in the coming weeks, WABetaInfo offers. After the testing process is complete, the rest of us will be able to enjoy this useful feature as part of an official release. As of now, the official release date for this update has not been announced.
